Boeing 747 Airplane Tag
This Boeing 747 N198UA took its first flight May 1997 and flew international routes for United Airlines until it was retired in March 2009. It began the second journey of its career in March 2012 when its cockpit and controls, engines, pylons, landing gear, actuators, electrical, hydraulics and fuel subsystems were incorporated into the Stratolaunch, the world’s largest aircraft by wingspan. As part of the Stratolaunch, this plane will live on to carry satellites and rockets into space.

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because they are made from real fuselage, each one bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical ones. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular one.

I’m really happy with the personalised tag, the service the whole experience has been fantastic. When personalising a tag, pay attention to the detail and don’t rush. Make sure any phone numbers are correct, don’t do what I did and get the numbers mixed up. But hey, at least I spelt my name right!
I'm a retired United ramper. It's nice to own a piece of an aircraft that I have worked and have history with.
These are AMAZING!!!!! Just came back from a 3 week trip to Europe: planes, trains, buses, cabs, ubers, and even a water shuttle. All 6 did great, a few scratches, but made them even better. Got lots and lots of compliments, and the wife won't let me buy anymore as i have 10 right now. Purchased for the wife, 2 kids, parents, in-laws, gifts, there is no limit to gift giving and each one is special to whomever receives one! Highly recommend, worth it, and seriously I want more but have no idea where I can use them! Thank you for a great travel gift and id tag!
Very pleased with these tags from a plane I flew on multiple trips!
I like the tag but won’t be buying any more. It’s really not worth the high price. There are lots of other aviation themed luggage tags that are more reasonable.
Its pretty cool owning a piece of a historic plane
I was given one of these tags and thought it was so wonderful that I have ordered several as gifts for friends.
This is the watch I never got after 25yrs with United Airlines
it came out really nice !
It was first given to me as a gift. I was a United F/A for almost 46 years. I love it so much that I bought 2 others to give as gifts to friends of mine who love to travel…mostly on United.
So amazing story. My uncle was a 747 pilot for United. I got him this tag for Christmas. He is retired, but has all of his old log books. He not only flew the plane that the tag was made from, but he flew it for the last time with his son, who is also a pilot. That trip was his son’s first time to fly the 747. It was such an epic flight, that the son even made a picture book to commemorate the trip. And my uncle now has a piece of that plane! My uncle hurried to buy his son the exact same tag I got him, so he could have one too. He said it was THE BEAT PRESENT EVER! So thank you!!!!
I purchased the United 747 tag for a retired pilot who flew that plane. I am embarrassed to give it to him as it is so poorly done. The back where the address is is peeling and chipped around the edges. It looks really shabby. What a shame. I loved the idea and wanted to purchase more of them.
It is of great quality
I actually flew this airplane, NRT-SFO March 2007. So I was quite excited to have this keychain. I ordered it 2 Aug 2020 and requested special engraving. I received notification that a USPS tracking number had been issued but the keychain never left the warehouse. After a month I contacted PlaneTags to inquire about my order. Customer service was very prompt in replying. (Same day) The lady explained they have been having trouble getting orderers out and if it had not left within a week that she would re-order it for me. Which she did a week later. Three more weeks go by (almost two months after my original order) and I contacted customer service again. CS was very fast with a reply. She stated that the second order had also been lost. Feeling let down and frustrated, I canceled the order on Tuesday, 29 Sep. She stated it would take 3-4 days for my credit card to be refunded. I’m hoping mine was an isolated incident. But for it to happen twice makes me wonder. Hope you have better luck than me.
I ordered a tag over a month ago, they claimed it shipped on August 6. Since then, the post office is STILL waiting for the tag. Any communication with the company requesting a refund results in a response merely telling me that it is missing. I have had to dispute this charge with my credit card company. Do not trust this company, it may be a scam.
Came exactly as ordered and very quickly.
This is the 5th or 6th tag I've purchased. They are all great quality and unique. The only concern I have is the engraving appears to be the way the back of the tag is painted or etched away the paint - not engraved into the metal. I hope this holds up to the rigor of road warrior travel once COVID travel restrictions end.
The website was easy to navigate. I haven't received my order yet.
Very nice product, arrived on time and great details.
Absolutely love the plane tag! I’ve been at United Airlines for 50 years now. I work at the airport, and I made sure that those 747s got off the ground! There’s a lot of sentiment behind this plane tag. Thank you for making these with the best plane ever!I really hope you have a very thriving business. I intend to order more of these later thank you so much!
