PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Douglas DC-9 took to the skies on February 25, 1965 from Long Beach, California, and became one of the most popular and successful jet airliners for several reasons. N8990E was one of 81 DC-9-30s that powered the Eastern Air Lines fleet and helped make EAL one of the most successful and dominant airlines for decades. Eastern Air Lines, among other carriers, chose it as their workhorse due to its reliability and efficiency. N8990E was withdrawn from use when Eastern Air Lines ceased operations in January 1991, then broken up in 1994 in San Bernardino (MHV). *Important Notice – Please Read Carefully PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag. * Please Note: Domestic Shipping: 3-5 Days. International Shipping: 8-15 days Caution: Not recommended for children under 8 years of age. Nostalgic

I had friends who worked for Eastern. I used to fly Eastern out of Atlanta. It’s fun to own a piece of a plane. Who knows I may have flown the very plane my tag came from. I like the fact that the tag was “bit rough on the surface” shows it to be more authentic

    So cool!!!

This tag was so cool! Great addition to my collection, definitely my favorite! It's a beautiful, almost mirror polish, and very "classy" looking.

    A Very Cool Gift!

I purchased this for my brother-in-law for the holiday. He has his pilot's license and loves all planes and plane related items. He loved it! Thought it was extremely cool and the fact that it came from an actual Eastern Airlines plane made it that more meaningful. He uses it as a key chain. Delivery was on time before the holiday.

Beautiful Souvenir of Travels in my Youth

How cool to find this tag made from a real Eastern DC-9! I flew Eastern many times in my childhood and early adulthood, and it's amazing to consider that it may be from an aircraft I may have flown on myself. The perfect tag for my carry on. Can't wait to see what you guys salvage next!
