OUR PLANE'S STORY

Delivered to American Airlines as NC94238 in June 1948, it then spent a short time with TOA Airways before being delivered to Cordova Airlines in May 1965. During the merger of Alaska Airlines and Cordova in 1967, N51331 was taken over by Alaska and became part of their fleet. 51331 would wear the famed Golden Nugget livery until being withdrawn from service in 1969.

The Golden Nugget Service, along with the comfortable flight experience and pressurized cabin of the Convair CV-240, delivered luxury and elegance to its passengers during the 1960s and 1970s, making this aircraft an integral part of aviation's golden era of travel.

Convair CV-240 PlaneTags give collectors an opportunity to hold a piece of the rich legacy that N51331 represents - a legacy of innovation, luxury, and the ever-evolving story of flight. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of a Golden Nugget.

PlaneTags are Handmade Aviation Tags

  • Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
  • Unique -  each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
  • Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
  • Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.

- Please Note: Due to limited quantities,  combination colors you may receive will vary.

    The Golden Nugget

I love how the team managed to find this rare history of a modern airline with even more history in movies! Love the colors.

    Golden nugget tag!

Really enjoyed the golden nugget tag! Some of the paint is faded but that is all part the amazing history of this plane.

    North to Alaska

I love the state of Alaska, so of course, I had to get this one. I wish I would have been able to grab a different variant before they sold out (within seconds), but I'm still happy with the Vintage Metal version.

    GOLDEN NUGGY

These tags are all very unique and each one tells a story. This plane has a very rich history as well and is a great reminder to how passenger air service has evolved over the years.

    Amazing history!

Such a unique opportunity to own a piece of one of the Golden Nugget Planes! The paint is very weathered and tells its stories with age. The Golden Nugget Logo is a very unique Tri-Color tag that I am thrilled to be able to have!

    Amazing Find!

I love the old classic airliners and the Convair 240 is on the list of the great ones. The fact that MotoArt was able to find this airplane is amazing in itself, but to have a piece of a Convair 240 in the Alaska "Golden Nugget" livery is awesome. I'm very happy with my tag that contains parts of the Golden Nugget logo. Great release!

Frozen Flyer from the Far North

This tag was a must have. You see I'm from Alaska and have flown on Golden Nugget service planes many times. I still have some of the goodies they used to hand out. So when the time came I of course bought all 5 tags. Getting that RED tag was the toughest of them all. I still have not figured out where my LOGO tag is from but what the heck it looks great anyway. The tags are great and I haven't seen two logo tags the same yet I will be having a display made for all five tags and of course a likeness of the plane. Thanks MA for another wonderful keepsake.

    A great release

This is a great release. The one I got had some glorious patina to it, looking almost like a modernist art piece. Not one to sleep on!

    My Logo Tag Rocks!

Oh man, 5 stars for this one! My Golden Nugget logo tag is arguably the best-looking tag in my collection, & certainly the lowest number. Kudos to MotoArt for this beautiful, limiet-edition tag!

    Golden Nugget Service

The Convair CV-240 AS Golden Nugget PlaneTags set is a highlight release for me...managed to get the entire set! Love tags that harken back to the age when flight was an adventure and a privilege and just outright special, as viewed by both airlines and passengers. So glad to add this set to my collection...thanks, PlaneTags!
