In February 1996, WestJet, a small regional airline, began offering low cost flights in Western Canada aboard a 737-200. Today, WestJet is the second largest Canadian air carrier, providing domestic and international flights on their young, all-Boeing fleet. MotoArt celebrates the achievement of WestJet with the introduction of the first Boeing 737 Next Generation PlaneTags - Introducing our WestJet Boeing 737-7NG PlaneTags made from C-GTWS.

C-GTWS was built as a Boeing 737-700 and was delivered to WestJet in July 2002. At this time in the airline’s history, WestJet employed 3,100 and flew over 5.8 million travelers throughout its 21 Western Canadian destinations. By the time C-GTWS retired in April 2020, the airline offered service in 100 destinations in North America, Central America, Europe, and the Caribbean but passengers dropped from 26 million in 2019 to just 8 million in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2020, passenger travel and WestJet’s services have returned in full force. WestJet now offers travel aboard its Next Generation 737s, 787 Dreamliners, and 737 Max fleet. In 2023, the airline announced its new service to Tokyo, and unveiled 20 new routes and three new destinations throughout North America. Through WestJet’s partnership with Delta Air Lines, passengers have access to over 150 U.S. cities on a single purchased ticket. WestJet also offers regional and connector services through its subsidiaries WestJet Encore, WestJet Link, and its low-cost carrier Swoop.

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

I thought I wouldn't have liked the grab bag tags, but honestly after having them, the color variety, patterns, and the ultra cheap price made it very unique for an affordable price.
Very lucky to get this West Jet red-white tag. While it seems to be from the registration added at the boneyard, it still has a great pattern. Now I'm hoping for a Canadian flag tag from this same jet
I'm once again impressed by the quality of the finished product. The teal color on this one makes it extra nice.
Ordered a gray/white variant and it is so gorgeous specially the engraving
Is the idea of composite tags new? I don't remember seeing many of these.
Ordered a honeycomb and grab bag, both are great tags. Please do more grab bag tags in the future!
Amazing colors on this release! The grab bag idea is such a fun idea to for some of the lower quality tags and even those look great! The best of the bunch is the red/white combo and the composites! Always awesome to have a composite tag made form an airliner!
The carbon fiber that is exposed after the engraving looks amazing. I am totally satisfied with the purchase and recommend that tag to anyone.
The teal composite tag is gorgeous. The rich vivid teal, with the carbon composite showing through the engraving, it looks fantastic.
My first composite tag and -700. Teal proved to be one of the nicest coolers I've seen.
The carbon texture is beautiful!
These tags are such a unique color and one of my favorites. Thankful for the chance to own it
I purchased the midnight blue version of this plane tag. I bought it as a present for a relative who had once worked for West Jet.
I bought the Teal Composite Honeycomb; what a cool tag! The teal really stands out in my collection, & the the way the composite comes through the laser etching is simply fantastic! What a beauty! MotoArt really outdid themselves on this one.
I dropped this Westjet aircraft off, completing its last flight from YYC-MZJ in July ‘22. My team has taken a few aircraft down there, so to recognize their efforts I have purchased a tag for each of them. It’s sad to see the aircraft being retired, but having a memento is awesome, thanks to Plane Tags for making that possible. The quality and detail is great, and they are quickly recognized by others who have plane tags, or inquired about from people who haven’t seen them before. John M.
Just a fantastic commercial release - got the entire set. But the Grab Bag tags were the hit for me...so much fun and some amazing tags with patina and character galore!
I bought a grab tag, it was a nice tag with a split of grey and white plus some metallic color. I really like this tag because of the unique pattern.
A very nice edition with interesting color combinations available. As this airline usually cannot be spotted on German airports I am happy about this opportunity, the tags are really very nice and affordable.
Wow just wow what a beautiful carbon weave againts the teal, they honeycomb is such a cool aspect and intersting to see one of my favourite looking tags.
I was so excited to see this tag become available, I was a flight attendant at WestJet for many years and worked on this particular aircraft countless times. It means a lot to me to be able to have a small piece for my collection. The tag is of very high quality and what I received was exactly what I was expecting, no disappointment here. #proudowner
