I ordered this before Christmas from the UK, and when it came it was a Folland Gnat tag, which I already have. The postage to return it would have cost so much that I am giving it to charity to raffle off.
Nice Planetag that arrived in good condition. Shipping was prompt.
As someone who flew a corporate BAC 1-11 years go, this piece will mean so much more to me, It’s a Planetag so of course, it’s great !!
This is a fantastic tag - a former Braniff 1-11 that was later acquired by Allegheny Airlines. And since the cockpit section was salvaged after the aircraft went off the runway in 1978, the piece wears the colors of an airline which morphed into USAir the following year. So, in one purchase you get a piece of vintage metal that still wears an authentic, vintage livery.
Every single one of the 35 orders for different 60 tags that I've placed with PlaneTags has been perfect! Thank you for a fantastic product, caring customer service, and exemplary communication! I can not think of a single thing that would make my experience better than it has already been (except receiving my coveted Aloha Mystery Tag for my second Mystery Tag that I just ordered about an hour ago :) Keep up the great work, Dave, Priscyla, & Team! Mike
I flew on a BAC 1-11 (same type/model) in 1980 from Berlin to London with Dan-Air. Sat way in the back with my parents next to the engine. It was very loud and seating was a tight fit. My mother complained that it was like in a sardine can. Outside, I could see the Rolls-Royce emblem on the engine cowling. I looked at my mom and pointed this out to her, remarking, "look on the bright side, we're flying with Rolls-Royce". Everyone laughed. Still, a memorable aircraft and somehow, unforgettable.
