OUR PLANE'S STORY

Our Boeing 727-227 took its first flight on May 12, 1970. Registered as N402BN, it flew for Braniff International Airways, followed by Northwest Airlines as N206US. On March 14, 1988, it was delivered to Pan Am as N385PA and flew with the airline until 1991. It remained in boneyard storage, still in its Pan Am colors, until 2023.

“Every country has an airline. The World has Pan Am.” Pan Am distinguished itself as more than just a U.S. carrier; it became a symbol of international air travel, connecting continents and cultures, and earning a reputation as a pioneer and ambassador in the world of aviation.

Pan Am 727 PlaneTags are a tangible piece of Pan Am’s legacy. Indulge in the allure of vintage air travel and own a piece of aviation history with limited-edition Pan Am Boeing 727 PlaneTags

PlaneTags are Handmade Aviation Tags

  • Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
  • Unique -  each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
  • Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
  • Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.

    A little emotional.

I gifted one of these from the Pan Am 727 to one of my co-workers for her birthday. Her father had been a pilot for Pan Am many years ago but I didn’t realize until after I had purchased it that her father had flown 727’s! She told me that it did make her a little emotional. I was glad that I could connect her to her dad in a small way.

    Beautiful color combinations!

Such an amazing opportunity to own a piece of the last plane in the Pan Am livery! I never got to see any of these birds fly in person, but I am more than thrilled to be able to own the classic Pan Am Blue!

    That iconic PanAm blue

The blue paint on these is very nice, still looks brand new! The white not so much, definitely shows how long the plane was abandoned. Unless you like that! But I prefer to imagine the plane as it was when it was still flying, and the blue version does that very well.

    One of my favorites!

Pan Am has always been one of my favorite airlines so when I heard the news that a PlaneTag from the last surving Boeing 727 in Pan Am livery was being made, of course I was excited for the release. Upon receiving my array of tags in different variations, I was incredibly happy to have such a great piece of history in my hands. The Pan Am tags do not disappoint and are probably one of the greatest tag releases that MotoArt has ever done.

    Absolute Favorite Tag!

My personal favorite tag to date and probably forever is actually a plane I know and have seen countless times rotting away at MQY. These tags are super special and represent a time in aviation when flying something special. 727 + Pan Am is a real win in my book especially the Blues!

    Very nice plane tag

I purchased the metal version of this tag. I flew on many different 727s over the years and this is a great keepsake.

Very nice Tail logo blue tag

I was very excited when I found out that Planetag would realese tags from Pan Am. I was very lucky to get a Tail logo blue tag which was a very nice tag, because when I got the tag I saw some red paint on it, which was very nice.

    Very nice Tail logo blue

I bought a tail logo blue tag, I was very excited when I got the tag because I saw some red paint on it and that was very nice. Pan Am is also one of my favorite airlines and I also think the Boeing 727 is a very cool plane.

    Pan Am 727-200

Great experience. My planetag arrived quickly and was absolutely stunning. It felt amazing to hold such a beautiful piece of history in my hands. The 727 is an amazing aicraft, itself. I only had the privilege of flying on two, with Delta Airlines.

    I underestimated this one.

I will admit, I never really felt the Pan Am nostalgia (it was just before my time). I took a look at this on launch day, though, and I was intrigued by the blue/white rugged variant, so I pulled the trigger. I'm glad I went for it, because it ended up being a gorgeous tag.

    Obsess

I’ve always found the Pan Am brand to be somewhat interesting history. It was the gold standard for airline travel and then it all came crashing down. I was very excited when they announced this tag. I was at the Moto Art studio and got to pick up my order. The staff was very friendly and got a personal quick tour with Dave Hall. This tag is simply beautiful and holds so much history.

    Fantastic release

For all enthusiats of civil aviation PanAm is one of most traditional airlines with a long history. Unfortunately I never had opprortunity to fly with, but many different aircraft types (737, 727, A310, 747...) of PanAm could be seen daily in Frankfurt Rhein-Main. I am very happy about this issue, given opportunity to preserve a piece of aviation history.

    Holy Grail of PlaneTags

PanAm has always been our Holy Grail of all things aviation. Never thought in a million years we'd get the chance to hang tags from a PanAm B727 on our luggage and keys...release and tags of the year! Thanks, PlaneTags!

    The Pan Am blue

I bought another blue piece, this particular one has a sky blue tone that perfectly reflects the colors of Pan Am, in addition, it has a slight red shadow underneath that makes it look spectacular, very happy with this other piece.
