Snag some luck right out of the skies with this historic Boeing 767. On July 23rd, 1983, this miracle plane bearing tail number 604 for Air Canada ran out of fuel at 41,000 feet. Captain Robert (Bob) Pearson and crew avoided major catastrophe, managing to glide the aircraft safely through the air to make an unheard of emergency landing at Gimli.
Cut and engraved directly from the skin of the historic Gimli Glider, this limited edition, one-of-a-kind Plane Tag has been resurrected from legend to live on as a versatile and practical memento. Now, you too can hold this token of luck in the palm of your hand.
Join us Wednesday, December 16 for a special live broadcast with MotoArt owner Dave Hall, along with special guests, including Gimli Glider author and expert Wade Nelson.

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

An airplane that survived the last minute. it is my precious amulet. Thank you for the opportunity to obtain it.
Delighted to have a piece of this famous aircraft. Perfect quality and conversation piece.
Wonderful, easy, painless. Love the end result
Amazing piece of aviation history that any aviation enthusiast should have in their collection!
Excellent. This was a gift for a friend from Winnipeg Manitoba which is in close proximity to Gimli who is fascinated with the Gimli Glider story. A conversation piece to be sure.
I bought 2 of these tags from the Gimli Glider; both were gifts and were personalised. They arrived very promptly in the UK and were much appreciated by the recipients who love having a piece of aviation history. The tags are good quality, very smooth and tactile, and the engraving was really good too. I would recommend this product.
Arrived quickly and as described! I was working at the Gimli airport when it landed. What an amazing momento for me.
Second tag bought (MD80 first one) and in both instances product arrived in a very timely manner with excellent detail.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad who flew the 76 for most of his career. Coolest thing ever!
I bought this amazing piece of aviation history, this is really well made and looks just like the picture on the site. I’m a flight attendant and I carry this good luck charm with me on every flight.
I received tracking info to say my item was en route to Canada from the US- but some how ended up in Malaysia! I write the company twice to ask if this was normal- and all I got Was “this is your tracking number” and not sure why it would be in Malaysia “! I’m sure I’m not the first person who had this same message and response. So customer service doesn’t seem to be great- I’m still crossing my fingers that the gift I ordered in September as a birthday gift- might hopefully arrive by December as a Christmas gift?! It’s too bad they’re not more upfront becaus3 the concept is amazing.
Thank you for this amazing item. I got it as a gift for my husband on his retirement from the airline industry after 36 years. He is so thrilled with it, having worked on this aircraft many time during his career with Air Canada it has touched a special place in his heart. I also would like to mention that the services and tracking of the item from your door to ours was great. I knew exactly were it was and could follow it’s journey right into my husbands hands. Thank you for a great product and Great service! We have already recommended you to several friends.
I ordered this item 6 weeks ago and have still not received it. Why can’t you use a reliable courier like DHL rather than USPS for international orders. Your support staff have been unhelpful, bordering on rude when I have raised this issue. Delivery is your responsibility as you chose the delivery service, not me. Would not recommend because if this.
The shipment took longer than I expected, yet I'm happy with the product itself.
Ordered the begining of June next email I received June 10 says it is shipped and an update from you/USPS on July 02 states it is still in L.A. Seriously!
This wasn't my first purchase. I've ordered some previous ones for myself and Son. However this most recent one was for a long-time friend attending B767 school as a gift. I'm confident he'll love it......
Experience was great in ordering this Gimli Glider tag, I actually worked on this aircraft in the beginning of my career at Air Canada. So having a piece of this historic metal tube that flew in the skies is a great keepsake. Especially in these times when everyone is getting laid off due to Covid19.. so thankyou for making these! It really lifts the spirits!
I love the Gimli Glider tag because it's a piece of history I have on my work bag. I dispatch 767 cargo jets like the Gimli and seeing it on my bag reminds me of the skill it takes to pilot these aircraft. Keep getting more historic aircraft.
Love the Gimli Tag. Enjoy having a piece of an aircraft that I have flown as a pilot. Thank you. My wife scored full marks for her Christmas present :)
Thanks ....best present
