Trans World Airlines (TWA) was one of the big four domestic airlines in the US, operating from 1930 to 2001. Throughout its 70 year reign, some 300 aircraft flew for TWA, including 37 Boeing 747s. The only airplane with a name that's a household word - the Boeing 747-100 revolutionized intercontinental air travel in the 1970s with its unmatched combination of size and range. The result: the lowest operating costs in the industry, making the 747 a favorite of airlines and passengers alike. Known as the Plane that Shrank the World, it became an icon of long-haul travel and exotic holidays; Boeing’s 747 could fly more people further than any plane before.
N129TW remained in Pinal Airpark for decades, a treasure of history wasting away in the desert. We are honored to give new life to this aviation giant, known for its iconic branding and design, before being dismantled forever . Join us in celebrating this incredible Queen of the Skies with our exclusive, limited run of TWA 747 PlaneTags.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

While at a run through Pima Air and Space Museum, I picked one of these up and has spiraled into a neverending love of Planetags!
This tag is an amazing piece of aviation history, and allows me to experience a time of history I did not get witness.
This was the first PlaneTag I ever bought and I couldn’t be happier to have started my growing collection with such an iconic aircraft. TWA is a classic airline and the 747 is what helped make jet travel available to the masses. It is truly a highlight in aviation history and should be in any aviation enthusiast’s collection.
TWA was an iconic airline with some legendary aircraft. It's awesome to be able to own a piece of one of these aircraft. Thanks for the opportunity!!!
Thank you to the awesome people at MotoArt for persevering this legendary 747-100 aircraft in TWA colors. Got both the Blue, & the Blue/White Combo, & they are both favorites!!!
Love these! My uncle flew them when i was a kid, got him one too!
I love this tag because it reminds me of the old days of aviation. TWA was so prominent and one of the faces of American aviation for so long. I am sad that it went bankrupt and there are no more TWA planes flying with their name.
I first flew on a 747-100 in 1975. My very first impression when I went aboard was that I had somehow entered a small movie theater and not an airliner. For someone who always traveled on 707s and DC-8s, it was certainly an eye-opening experience. Now, even the mighty 747 is becoming a part of aviation history. Goodbye, old Jumbo Jet.
Own some plane tags and pre-ordered this TWA 747 to ensure I received one. Flew on this specific 747 from JFK to Europe as a flight attendant many times. Everything ordered from Plane Tags is superior quality and never an issue. Many memories here. Top-notch from ordering to personalized items. Value and enjoyable for any aviation enthusiast
Knowing that it first flew with the Air France colours, and that I may have been on one of its travels makes it extra special! Thank you for salvaging another significant piece of aviation history. How about finding a Cessna 421 Golden Eagle for us - Thank you for keeping us flying!
Very nice Tag! A vibrant blue and clean-cut.
A very nice tag! Flew on the 747-100 in the mid-70's and back then, flying was still a very nice experience. Miss the days where service was still written in capital letters. Great tag to remember this iconic aircraft by!
Flew one of these to London so nice to have a reminder of that trip.
Awesome tag and great service
Worth the price for this piece of history!
I bought 1 TWA Plane Tag about 3 months ago for me (Margaret Stadtlander) and was able to order it engraved. It is awesome. Then ordered 1 for a friend BUT engraving was not an option on that order form. Can we return it to have PlaneTags engrave it and charge my credit card? I sent an email when I ordered it to see if that it could be ordered but no response. I was afraid not to just place the order so you did not run out of the TWA tags. Obviously, I would pay for shipping both ways and the engraving. I don’t think that a jeweler could make the engraved letters look dark like yours.Because your website did not offer the engraving, I did not know if you will not engraving anymore or if it was many orders for Christmas and engraving would slow down the ship times. Thanks Maggie (Margaret Stadtlander) 6139 Grey Friar Way Dublin OH 43017 (614-361-0654) the order that needs the engraving went to Donna Heron in Davie FL. I pd with my credit card and want to pay for the engraving if it can be done if we return to you.
As a 32 year employee of TWA I was very happy to see a tag from a TWA A/C offered. Many former employees would like to see you offer more tags from TWA A/C. As usual the buying experience was smooth!
Nice product, and fun to have a piece of a plane I actually flew on in my pocket as a memory.
Overall it’s an excellent piece. Some inconsistency in engraving, likely due to how long the paint was exposed to the elements.
Absolutely love it. Not only does it match my work bag perfectly, but all my fellow flight attendants who flew for TWA love seeing a piece of it still “flying!” Its also been holding up to the rigors of my jet set lifestyle without so much as a scuff. Definitely the best plane tag to date!
