Built in 2002 and joining Azul in 2015, PR-AIU helped connect Brazil with destinations across North America and Europe, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Lisbon, and Paris. Finished in its distinctive Azul Viagens special livery, the aircraft became one of the most recognizable members of Azul's long-haul fleet.
Now, this retired Airbus A330 lives on as individually numbered PlaneTags made from the aircraft's actual skin.
OUR PLANE'S STORY
When Azul launched in 2008, the airline focused on connecting cities across Brazil. As the carrier expanded internationally, the Airbus A330 became a key part of that growth.
PR-AIU, an Airbus A330-243 built in 2002, joined Azul's fleet in 2015 and helped support the airline's growing network of international routes. Wearing the colorful Azul Viagens special livery, the aircraft flew passengers between Brazil and destinations including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Lisbon, and Paris.
Before joining Azul, the aircraft flew for Emirates, giving it a career that spanned multiple airlines, continents, and decades of commercial aviation history.
