Piedmont Airlines, later absorbed into USAir, was founded in 1948 and grew from a humble regional carrier to a successful nationwide airline with its use of Boeing 737s. MotoArt is thrilled to introduce you to Piedmont’s first 737-200 - N734N, also known as N200AU.

Find out more - read our blog Boeing 737: The Piedmont Pacemaker

Our 737, as N734N, flew a record-breaking delivery flight to Piedmont Airlines in 1968, from Seattle, WA to Wilmington, NC in four hours, 47 minutes. Christened the Piedmont Pacemaker, N734N began scheduled service in June 1968 as Piedmont’s first 737-200. N734N and its contemporaries helped Piedmont to grow rapidly and expand its East Coast routes, attracting the attention of USAir, who acquired the airline in 1989. After the merger, USAir became one of the largest airlines on the East Coast. N734N was then reregistered as N200AU and continued to fly until its retirement in 1997. After retirement, it languished in the Arizona desert until MotoArt acquired it for PlaneTags in 2022.

OUR PLANE'S STORY

The narrow-body, twin-engine Boeing 737 took its first flight in 1967 - and nearly 60 years later is still flying high as one of the most successful airliners ever built. The first 737 was also the last new aircraft to be built at Boeing’s famed Plant 2 - the former production site of the B-17 and B-52 - because the 737 tail was too tall. The 737 was designed for shorter ranges and smaller airports, and could accommodate more passengers with its six-abreast seating or be easily converted for cargo use. The 737-200 featured improved aerodynamics, more powerful engines, higher fuel capacity, and an extended fuselage.

MotoArt is thrilled to celebrate the Boeing 737 by honoring a pioneering airline and its history with the introduction of our newest commercial aircraft. Don’t miss adding Boeing 737 PlaneTags in USAir livery to your collection today.

PlaneTags are Handmade Aviation Tags

  • Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
  • Unique -  each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
  • Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
  • Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.

- Please Note: Due to limited quantities, combination colors you may receive will vary.

    Love the polished

I love the reflective polish of the metal tags, they went above and beyond to have a mirror-like affect like on the actual aircraft!

    Reunion of 737

Love this piece. I try my best to keep it shiny, I was excited to see planetags had a chrome 737 due to me being a fueler at DFW with American airlines, I get to fuel their rare chrome 737 retro jets. I even posted about it on Twitter with the tag and the plane next to each other, very cool.

    Shiny!

This is a very shiny tag, certainly the shiniest that I've bought from MotoArt. A very well-done and well-made tag!

A Piece of My Childhood (737 Polished)

I was thrilled when I heard PT would be coming out with a tag of USAir's 1989 livery, as my family flew many flights on those beauties. As much as I like the polished tag, I wish a USAir Blue would've been available for individual purchase, though.

    Plane Tags

I ordered two tags. One of them did not have name and address information. I sent you an email about this, but no reply. So, thus far i am not a happy customer. Tom Orlandini

    Over the moon!

This USAir 737 was Piedmont way before. My husband flew this airplane. I was a passenger on this plane. We met in 1968 and Mr. Davis “met” this plane in 1968. I bought tags for my husband for our 52nd Anniversary and he was thrilled. Would have loved the Piedmont livery but such is life. Thank you for the memories.

    USAir Belongs to You

As always, fantastic in every way. I truly feel the tangibility of these tags makes them such a unique way to have your own piece of aviation history. Being an employee of US (and then AA) this tag in particular is one of my favorites. From the cardboard it's attached, to the tag itself, the design is great and so visually impressive. Keep them coming!
