TheP-51 “Mustang” was considered the best fighter of WW II by friend and foe alike. Countless lives of B-17 aircrews, soldiers and civilians were saved by the ability of the aircraft to fly to the enemy targets and back with drop tanks, protecting the bombers. The P- 51 helped the Allies to dominate the skies over Europe after 1943. 281 “ACES” were accredited to P- 51 pilots and a total of 4,950 victories for all pilots flying this most Iconic of WW2 fighters. This very limited edition PlaneTag is from the restoration of the “Moonbeam McSwine” (Serial #44-73656) that was originally built in 1944 and one the hand-full of remainingP-51 Mustangs remaining in the world. Due to its rarity, we only have a limited release of 450 tags available for purchase.
