These Desk Watches are made from 1940’s era Jacobs radial engine pistons. They are dead stock new pistons that have been machined at a 60 degree angle for easy reading.
Before turbine engines became widely available, radial engines were used in aircraft. The radial engine is a reciprocating internal combustion engine configuration, in which the cylinders radiate outward from the central crankcase. The configuration resembles spokes of a wheel or a star. It is sometimes known as a star engine in other languages.
This desk watch looks great on a home or office desk - wherever you want to show your love of aviation. It also makes the perfect gift for a pilot or avgeek who has everything.
The finished clock weighs approximately 3 lbs.

Beautiful piston, well polished but the hands don’t seem well secured and have fallen off a few times. Happy with how it looks but a little disappointed in the working of the clock.
