The release of our first Messerschmitt PlaneTag offers something a little different – the chance for our aviation enthusiasts to assist in the restoration and preservation of aviation history. Proceeds from the sale of these authentic Bf 109 PlaneTags will be donated to the Spirit of Flight Foundation in support of their mission to restore the notorious Bf 109 Messerschmitt, Werk Nummer 10145, as well as their charitable work.
The 10145 was built in Leipzig, Germany in 1942, serving as a Norwegian patrol aircraft which flew the Murmansk sector of Russia. The aircraft was shot down in aerial combat with multiple Soviet fighters during an escort mission for Ju 88 bomber aircraft on July 19th, 1942. The aircraft was flown by FW. Leopold Knier, who bailed out at an altitude of about 3000 meters after it was crippled by the Soviet P-40. The aircraft remained in Northern Russia until it was rescued by Warbird Recovery in the winter of 1994, and is currently under restoration for the Spirit of Flight Foundation.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

Well made and I enjoy the included history and individual story of the aircraft.
I like the item I purchased. I had planned on buying more but the prices are getting stupidly expensive for a piece of metal. I sincerely doubt I will be purchasing more. More power to you if you can sell them at that price, but I don’t think they are worth the money.
I am not using it. It is a piece of art. I amplanning another one to use.
This is the second PlaneTag I've bought, and it is quite nice. It is (obviously) thicker than the other two I got -both from the A6M3- and, as with the others, the rounded finish of the sides feels smooth and pleasant to the touch. If there's something to be improved, it would be the engraving/stamping of the information on the metal. While the first PlaneTag I bought (a... mildly olive grey A6M3 plaque) has information flush to the metal, in this one you can feel it was painted on. Not much of an issue if you plan on displaying this item on a shelf (as I will), but if you do plan to use it on a circumstance in which it will face some wear and tear, I don't know how much the drawing of the airplane and the information on the front of the tag will last for.
Very interesting piece of WWII history. Thanks for saving for posterity. Used for display only.
Well made and showing authentic age and rust stains - a very fascinating piece of history.
Very attractive authentic finish on the front and back with high polished sides, very beautiful especially if you're lucky enough to get a thick tag
It was a present
I love the concept and treasure having a piece of history that I am very interested in.
It is great to own a piece of WWII history and to show it off.
Very good, prompt processing of the order and posting, especially as this was from the US to the UK.
I really love it, this type is a very important piece of the history of Hungarian military aviation because in WWII Messerschmidt Bf-109/G6 was the main fighter type of the Hungarian Royar Air Force and none of any aircraft reamin after the war.
I have always appreciated the many options and discounts offered for the consumer like a mutual fund where a person can own a piece of history at an affordable price. Also the customer service regarding any issue has been timely and professional.
My father and Uncle served in the USAAF in WW 2 in the European theater. My Uncle was 21 when his Fortress exploded all crew lost. So this German piece of history is a reminder of all the air crews that flew for democracy against the **** threat.
I love this plane tag, its awesome to have this little piece of history.
Great to have an actual piece of history...I don’t dare use it as a key chain because some of these pieces have tendency to wear off till it’s just a blank piece of aluminum
The coloring looks very nice and build is solid.
Amazing to hold in my hand and imagine this plane's history. Thankfully, in a dogfight with a P-51 Planetag, it lost!
Great! Fantastic piece of History!
Perfect piece by airoplane.
