OUR AIRCRAFT'S STORY
BuNo 147621 began its life with the U.S. Army as an H-25A Army Mule in 1951, before being quickly converted for naval use and redesignated as a HUP-3 Retriever. It was transferred to the U.S. Navy on April 12, 1958, where it would serve in various critical roles before it was struck off charge by the Navy in 1963. MotoArt discovered the derelict airframe and created PlaneTags in 2024.
The Piasecki HUP-3 was a versatile helicopter known for its distinctive tandem rotor design, which allowed it to excel in search and rescue, transport, and utility missions. Its ability to operate from both land and sea made it an invaluable asset to the U.S. military during its service.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.
