OUR PLANE'S STORY

‘80542 flew onto the scene on October 24, 1981, and was delivered to the 313 Tactical Fighter Squadron at Hahn Air Base, Germany, in December 1981. Between 1981 and 1994, ‘80542 served valiantly with several fighter squadrons. On March 29, 1994, ‘80542 ended its 13 years of service with retirement to AMARC at Davis-Monthan. Built as a Block 15 - an enhanced version of the original F-16 design - 80542’s modifications included upgraded avionics and radar, increased payload capacity, and compatibility with advanced weapons systems. These improvements made the F-16 even more effective in air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

Today, the F-16 remains a vital instrument of air superiority, with over 3,000 operating in over 25 countries. Now manufactured by Lockheed Martin, the F-16 Block 70/72 continues this unparalleled legacy, with several being deployed to five countries over the next few years and many more on order.

Great tag! This is one of the most recognizable fighter jets around and I’m happy to have a part of one now.

    Great Tag!

Great opportunity to get a tag off of a modern fighter jet. Spent countless hours watching them do touch-and-goes in Tucson and so awesome to have a piece of one!

    F-16 - Exterior Darker Grays

Great tag from a modern aircraft, very clean and heavy tag. Love the collecting of tags from aircraft from many generations, being able to have a tag like this F-16 on display next to it's WW2 counterpart, is such a conversation piece.

    Brings back memories

I was in the USAF in the early 80's and worked on F-15 and F-16 fighters, stationed in Germany. I have waited a good bit for Plane Tags to latch onto an F-16. Love the tag! Now, if you could only find an f-15 to use for tags, that would rock!

    Exterior Darker Grays

Was actually going to set this release out but decided at the last second to get an Exterior Darker Grays tag. Really glad i did. This color is exactly what I think of when I think of the F-16.

Not a bad tag, but didn't trip my trigger.

This tag was disappointing. It's not a bad tag by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not so cool as to be worth the price point in my mind. It's unfortunate, because I was looking forward to this one.

Falcon is unique but a bit pricey

One of the thickest tags I've been able to get my hands on. The art design and the piece are just spot on.. a little bit pricey for my liking but seeing how much of a veteran this is in must US and US Allied air forces means this was a must have!
