The Spirit of Australia
Qantas, as Australia’s national carrier, embodies the sense of adventure and pioneering spirit of Australia and her people. From its humble beginnings as an airmail carrier in the Outback 100 years ago to flying over 22 million passengers in 2019, Qantas has built a reputation for innovation, service and safety.
OUR PLANE'S STORY
City of Albury
VH-OJP, dubbed "City of Albury", joined the fleet in 1992 and flew exclusively for Qantas until retirement in 2012. At one time, Qantas only flew Boeing 747s, which soared to all points of the globe and made international travel within the grasp of the average Australian. The reach of the 747-400 made it possible to cross the Pacific with a single nonstop flight, bringing new generations of travelers between Australia and the West Coast.
Celebrating a Century of Qantas

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag.
