    Description

The F-84 Thunderjet PlaneTag preserves a pivotal moment in aviation history, when the U.S. Air Force transitioned into the jet age. Crafted from an authentic early jet fighter-bomber, this PlaneTag represents the aircraft that carried the fight from propeller-driven warfare into the modern era.

    OUR PLANE'S STORY

The F-84 Thunderjet was a jet-powered fighter-bomber developed in the late 1940s by Republic Aviation for the U.S. Air Force. Designed for speed, range, and payload, it became the Air Force’s primary strike aircraft during the Korean War, flying more than 86,000 combat sorties and destroying an estimated 60 percent of enemy ground targets.

45-59522 was built in 1947 and served in U.S. Air Force and test roles before being transferred to the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. Rescued by legendary collector Walter Soplata, it was preserved for decades in Ohio before being carefully transformed into PlaneTags by MotoArt. Read about it on our blog: F-84 Thunderjet: A Frontline Jet Preserved for History

    PlaneTags are:

      • Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
      • Unique -  each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
      • Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
      • Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag.
