The Convair B-36 was conceived in 1941, right as the U.S. was preparing for and entering the second World War. Dubbed “The Peacemaker”, the huge strategic bomber had the longest wingspan of any combat plane built and was the largest mass produced piston-engined plane. Although it was capable of intercontinental flight and delivering nuclear weapons, it was never used in combat. Very few remain today, including one, 42-13571, which was added to the Walter Soplata Collection in August 1972 and is now a part of the PlaneTags fleet.
Walter Soplata had a passion for aviation. He amassed a collection of some of the most iconic warbirds and stored them on his property in Ohio. While many of his collection has been donated, sold and restored, MotoArt was able to acquire some of the airplanes that could not be restored - including the Convair B-36 Peacemaker . PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because they are made from real fuselage, each one bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty. As a result, you will not have an option to select the exact color. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

I am deeply thankful that you were able to secure a piece of HISTORY!! There will never be another aircraft like the B-36 (and this is from a 3,000-hour F-16 pilot) so getting this PlaneTag was a special treat for me. Thanks!!
Sad fact that Planetags did not deliver my ordered as prepaid for by me ( a loyal multiple repeat customer). After instructed by Planetags that I must pursue their carrier USPostal Service they informed my they had delivered Planetags package to another address and my verification code given by Planetags was incorrect. Sad way to treat a loyal customer and leave them to fend for themselves with indifference attitude that left me the pre paying customer to fend for myself???!!! Sad truth about Planetags.
