This iconic supersonic record-setting jet aircraft has made its lasting mark on history and in the hearts of aviation enthusiasts since its debut in 1955.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 is a supersonic jet fighter and interceptor aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Also called "balalaika" after a stringed musical instrument it resembles and “Fishbed” by NATO, the MiG-21 is the most recognizable Soviet aircraft and also the most produced combat aircraft since the Korean War. It remains one of the most versatile aircraft ever produced, adaptable by any air force according to their specific needs and is still in use today. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MIG-21UM (Uchebnyy "Training" Modernizovannyy "Modernized") variant was a two seat training variant, a version of the MiG-21MF.
Our MiG-21, Ser# 01695163 NO. 203, was built and delivered to the East German Air Force in 1972. 203 served with the JG-3 (Fighter Squadron), TAFS-47 and TAFS-87 (Tactical Reconnaissance Squadrons), before being absorbed into the unified German Air Force as 23+84. It was withdrawn from use at Drewitz Air Base, Germany in July 1991, and salvaged in October 1992. MotoArt acquired the cockpit in 2021 and has created a lasting memento from one of the world’s most iconic jet fighter/interceptor ever built.
The nimble and extremely fast MiG-21 is a living icon. Add a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 UM Fishbed to your PlaneTags collection.

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. Interesting piece, exotic if you will. Definitely a thick tag.
Love the Mig 21 tag. Probably my favorite so far. It's much thicker than others I've purchased!
I collect rather than use these items. Mine had a deep scratch right across that was new caused by the polisher around the edges of the tag slipping. Other than that it was good.

The exterior green came in great condition ,and is a nice memento to one of my favorite planes.
Bought this tag and a B 52 tag. The Mig 21 is much thicker than the Buff tag. I would have liked a camo one but the OD green is good. Happy with the purchase
The Unique Exterior you sent is completely a piece of green, nothing special at all, just to be able to sell at a higher price? Really disappointed!
Ok Tags, ordered two of them. One is nearly perfect, the other with a rough, weathered-looking surface, the series number and writing barely legible. In my opinion, planetags should have written off this tag. It's ok, but not what I expected. Five Stars for one tag, two Stars for the party illegible tag. Planetags, for $54,95 you can do better!
