This DC-3 PlaneTag is cut and engraved directly from the Flagship Tulsa, which is the process of restoration. The DC-3 was built for American Airlines Flagship Fleet in 1939 and continued its passenger service for Trans Texas Airways, Air New England, Provincetown-Boston Airlines and finally Aero Liberated in Mexico. The aircraft was grounded in 1994 and stored in Wisconsin until sold off and donated to Tulsa Air and Space Museum Planetarium in 2008. A portion of the Planetags proceeds are being shared with the restoration project.
*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter, Dakota. Yes, named after the plane. We loved it. She quite touched about it too. Beautiful and good workmanship. Very happy. Thank you all very much.
I’m very happy with it. The DC-3 was my very first airplane ride when I was very young. It’s great having this on my travel bag as a reminder of that great and first trip.
Purchased this as a gift for an aerospace friend and he loved it! The custom engraving looks great and is usefl.
Unfortunately the DC-3 engraving was done on the white side and not the green side and the tag was a bit thin which was disapointing but I guess it can happen when someone else decides for you!
I love may plane tag and I love that’s it’s from an actual plane. A great gift for anyone who loves aviation and aviation history.
