For American Airlines, the DC-10 became a flagship of the fleet, delivering millions of passengers safely across the skies in unmistakable polished aluminum and red, white, and blue stripes.

OUR PLANE'S STORY
Delivered new to American Airlines in 1973, N125AA served for decades on long-haul routes that connected travelers from Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago O’Hare, and Los Angeles International to destinations around the world. Its reliability, range, and comfort made it a cornerstone of American’s international network throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
In 1997, N125AA embarked on a new chapter when it was leased to Hawaiian Airlines, expanding the carrier’s wide-body fleet. The DC-10 gave Hawaiian the ability to expand its reach beyond the islands, flying passengers between Honolulu, the U.S. mainland, and Tokyo. Retired to Mojave in 2003, N125AA’s story came full circle, preserved today as PlaneTags for aviation fans and collectors everywhere. Read more about it on our blog: American Airlines DC-10: The Jet That Defined A Generation Of Air Travel.
