    History Lost

Lucky Lady III / City of El Paso had been on display outside of the Air Force Museum for as long as I can remember. On one trip to the museum it was parked over by the annex buildings. My two friends and I drove over, back when you could do that, and checked it out. Most of the hatches had been removed, so naturally we took the opportunity to climb up inside. The control columns and thrust levers had been cutoff at their base. A guard rousted us out of the plane saying we were all going to get histoplasmosis. We asked him what was going on with the plane. He said it was being scrapped. We were in shock. We took pictures of us standing in front of the doomed plane. The next trip to the museum, to go to the research room, the B-52 had been chopped up and the pieces were laying on the ramp where the once proud plane had stood. The folks in the research room said it would lay like that for several months so the satellites could get pictures proving it’s destruction for treaty purposes. That was the last time I saw the plane. It is my honor to have a little piece of history that reminds me of those trips to the museum. I bought three tags, one each for the three of us that crawled around in that plane forty years ago. None of us ever got histoplasmosis.

I managed to get a grey B52 and love it. Can't believe that I now own one of the most famous military jets of the last century.

    Great tag

I buy tags of aircraft that I have a connection to mainly. The B52 did a rare fly pass at a local UK air show a few years. It was the highlight of the show and arguably the best fly pass of the show’s history. The tag is a dark forest green and looks stunning. The backing art is by far my favourite of any tag that I have seen released my any manufacturer of any tag.

Awesome Tag to Give as a Gift

It's nearly impossible to find something cool to give my Father-In-Law for his birthday. He's always been interested in Aviation. He lives near the old Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York. Their used to be B-52's that operated out of that base. It was great to give him a piece of an airplane that may have once been there. Thanks for providing an awesome gift for my Father-In-Law!!!

I love the smell of Carpet Bombing in the morning

Got this tag for my old man who grew up in the Vietnam War era. This brought back so many memories where these big ladies would dominate the air during Operation Linebacker and others. The aircraft is just an unforgettable piece of history, which is still incredibly flying today. Respect!

BOEING B-52 LUCKY LADY III - PLANETAG TAIL #53-394

LUCKY LADY III // "City of El Paso" BOEING B-52 #1724 of 5,500 S/N 532-394 I sat my butt on one during an Air-Show in Camarillo, CA and that's a good reason to get this tag. Soft and clean light green surface. Beautiful tag of an aircraft with a exciting career.

    Boeing B-52 Lucky Lady III

Love this tag. It's amazing to own such an amazing piece of history. I've always loved the B-52 and had to have this tag. I proudly carry it on my backpack and love showing it off. My tag is really light green and silver on the back as the picture shows. I think the green the interior of the skin because the B-52 Lucky Lady III was silver on the outside, not green like the B-52s of today. Still a great item though.
