MotoArt’s newest addition to the PlaneTags collection is here! We are excited to add another Boeing to the fleet, and this 720 has an incredible story to tell. Once in a while, we find a plane that manages to appear in the history books more than once. This is one of them - meet Embraceable Annie also known as the Queen of Sheba, a Boeing 720-060B.

Embraceable Annie was discovered at MHV, after spending most of the 1990s as a DARPA testbed in the development of AIRMS (Airborne Infrared Measurement System). She had been acquired by Hughes Aircraft Co. (later Raytheon) in 1989 and registered as N7381. She was then rebuilt by Lockheed Greenville with modifications to the engines and the addition of an 8’x 6’ aero window to aid in the Raytheon LAX testing operations to benefit U.S. national security.

Before she became Annie, she was Queen of Sheba, a passenger aircraft delivered to Ethiopian Airlines soon after her first flight in September 1965. Shortly after departure on December 8, 1972, an international service from Addis Ababa (ADD) to Europe, an attempted hijacking of Flight 708 occurred. Security overtook the hijackers with no passengers or crew injured - but a quick thinking passenger was able to move an active grenade to an unoccupied area of the plane. It damaged an inboard engine and rudder controls, but the flight made an emergency landing in Addis Ababa.

OUR PLANE'S STORY

Only 154 Boeing 720s (a shorter derivative of the Boeing 707) were built. We are honored to share another rare, noteworthy aircraft, straight from 20th Century headlines, and add it to our fleet. Don’t miss this very limited run of 1,750 tags - add a Boeing 720 PlaneTag to your collection today.  Read more about it on our blog: Meet Embraceable Annie: A New Life for A Boeing 720

    Handcrafted Aviation Collectibles

    PlaneTags are:

    • Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
    • Unique -  each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
    • Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
    • Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.

    - Please Note: Due to limited quantities, combination colors you may receive will vary.

      Cant beat the history

How cool is it to have a rare aircraft, with an even rarer history of flight during its golden days. I have the many combinations and they all bring the history of the type to life!

      BOEING 720-060B - PLANETAGS TAIL # N7381

Boeing 720 // Tail#N7381 #0233 of 1,750 This nice white tag is soft and clean about 1/16" thick. A B-720 that has been with ARPA and Ethiopian Airlines with stories to tell including hijackers.

      Highly recommended issue

As this aircraft type was quite rare and less than 160 pcs. had been delivered, it is great having opportunity to buy a piece like this. The history of 'Embraceable Annie' is very interesting, the edition is quite small so highly recommended to take the opportunity as long it is possible!

      Very interesting history

Another favorite of mine and one with some very cool (unfortunate) past history. Must have for those military experimental collectors!

No complaints! Better than expected. Honestly I've never been disappointed with any of my tags, and I own more than a married guy should be allowed to own. Fortunately I'm single..

      Great Piece of Nostalgia!

I bought two of these, one for me and one for the other pilot who flew this tail number with me back in Mojave, CA in the 90's Great reminder of the fun and interesting experience of being a project pilot on a really cool test.

      Nice tag

Nice tag. Got a combo that was 90% one color and 10% the other color...and that is being a bit generous. Tag was fine but ended up selling it not long after purchasing it.
