Bell Helicopters was the winner of a 1963 United States Air Force competition for a support helicopter for use on its missile bases.
The resulting UH-1F had the shorter cabin of the "Bravo" Huey, but with a longer tail boom, rotor and transmission. The iconic aircraft of the Vietnam War with the distinctive "wop-wop" of the Huey's rotor blades stirs the memories of the generation that came of age during the turbulent 1960s.
The UH-1F was introduced into the USAF inventory in February 1964. The USAF took delivery of 119 Huey with production ending in 1967. Many of the aircraft served in southeast Asia with the 20th Special Operations Squadron and some were converted to the armed UH-1P configuration.

United StatesIts a cool item but I had 2 problems.... make that 3 problems. No. 1 - I bought this for my helicopter keys and turned out it was just a lot bigger than your average key chain fob, so big that it wasn't practical to use in the helicopter. No. 2 I know these old Hueys and it is very hard to find a super clean brand new looking square inch of skin but this key tag is flawless, i.e. Zero character. 3rd problem was the price, just too much for something that looks fake... I am not saying it is, probably isn't, but it looks like it.

United StatesI bought this gift for my father in law. He served in the Vietnam war and the Huey helicopter was a neat way to recognize his service. I wanted an aircraft that was time period accurate for his military service time. He was very happy to have this piece of recycled history.

United StatesI purchased the UH-1F planetag for a friend. I am a member of the American Legion Post 379 in Bedford, Texas. There are many Vietnam Vets that are members. One such member is dying from cancer and he flew the Huey in Vietnam. Just to see his facial reaction was all I needed. Thanks for allowing me this memory.
