Introduced first as Inter-Island Airways in 1929 with a fleet of only two 8-seater Sikorsky S-38s and a Bellanca monoplane, Hawaiian Airlines® slowly grew from island transport to Transpacific operations, flying from Oakland to Honolulu in a record setting 13 hours, 54 minutes in 1941. The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, known affectionately as “El Ten Eleven”, joined the Hawaiian fleet in 1985, opening up service to West Coast gateway cities and putting the airline in direct competition with the major US carriers for the first time in its history.
The iconic Hawaiian Airlines logo and livery have also evolved over the years. The Iiwi bird was added in 1952, later replaced with the jetbird. In 1973, Pualani, Flower of the Sky, was unveiled to celebrate the airline’s change to an all jet airline, becoming one of the first female icons on the tail of a commercial plane. Updates to Pualani in 2001 and 2017 have featured her more prominently and added touches to show the hibiscus and wind in her hair. Over the years, she has become a beloved symbol of the aloha spirit and a gracious island welcome, underscoring the commitment to providing hospitable, premium service.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

I have worked out at MHV, and really enjoy having Planetags from the Aloha Fun Bird, Hawaiian L-1011, and the Eastern DC-9. I also purchased a couple of Planetags from N665WN. I grew up flying on SWA 737-300s, and enjoy having Planetags from an aircraft that I remember. Thank you!
My experience with the folks at MotoArt PlaneTags was really good. I mistakenly ordered the wrong tag-which I seem to do a lot. However, they very kindly found the incorrect order and cancelled it. I successfully ordered the correct tag. Wish doing business with other companies was this easy. Kudos to everyone at MotoArt PlaneTags for your excellent customer service.
I was very excited to received another great bit of memorabilia from MotoArt. When it clinks with my other plane tag, they make a great sound. Thanks for you attention to detail.
Once the item got picked up by USPS, it took less than a week to arrive in Belgium. I did have to contact MotoArt because the item showed as ‘not shipped’, but they were quite helpful. The tag itself is just beautiful, really happy to have it! Nicely finished!
Great to have this unique, pink piece of aviation history in my collection. At least one way to get close to an L-1011 these days. Shipping to Europe took a while but didn't experience any problems.
I've been getting airplane tags from Moto Art for a few years now and just love their products. When I got my Aloha Airlines B-737, I was hoping for an Hawaiian Airlines Tag. Well the HA L-1011 does not disappoint! Got the Pualani Pink and am 100% satisfied! Mahalo and Aloha!
For the first 11 years of my business career I flew all over the US for two weeks at a time. One of my most favorite flights was the early bird flight from Atlanta to Dallas-Ft Worth on a L1011. The wide body and the early morning air always made for a smooth enjoyable flight. Having the Plane Tag from a Lockheed Tri-Star brings back those memories.
I don’t use any of my Plane Tags for anything, they are just part of my growing collection, 15 so far! Being retired from a major airline I only collect tags that have special meaning to me.
