Flagship Tulsa

This DC-3 PlaneTag is cut and engraved directly from the Flagship Tulsa, which is the process of restoration. The DC-3 was built for American Airlines Flagship Fleet in 1939 and continued its passenger service for Trans Texas Airways, Air New England, Provincetown-Boston Airlines and finally Aero Liberated in Mexico. The aircraft was grounded in 1994 and stored in Wisconsin until sold off and donated to Tulsa Air and Space Museum Planetarium in 2008. A portion of the PlaneTags proceeds are being shared with the restoration project.

*Important Notice – Please Read Carefully

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft skin, not merely stamped metal. Because they are made from real fuselage, each one bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical ones. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the exact color. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular product.

DC-3 FLAGSHIP TULSA PLANETAG SERIAL #NC-18141

My brother first flight ever was on a DC-3 (late 60s) during an Airshow/festival in the Aeropuerto de Cerrillos/ULC Santiago-Chile. Most likely the aircraft was either a C-47 FACH or a DC-3 LAN-CHILE. This tag is to celebrate that first flight

    DC-3 TULSA LEGACY AMERICAN AIRLINES

Got this tag for two reasons. My love for military aircraft and working for American Airlines. My father made a jump from a DC--3/C-47 during WWII and continued serving through Korea and Vietnam. I picked up where he left off with a 27 year career in the military (5yrs as a Marine and 22 yrs flying for the Air Force). Retired from American Airlines after another 17 years) So now you can understand my love of military aircraft and this particular aircraft.

    Nice but Expensive

Like the concept of these tags, but the prices are a little high.

    Can feel the history

Love the natural silver finish, with all the scars of a long life. Even the metal is thinner gauge than other newer plane tags. I’m very pleased, thank you!

    Flagship Tulsa DC-3 Planetag

This was a gift purchase. Our father flew this DC-3 for American Airlines. Its cockpit has been restored and will soon be on display at the Tulsa Air & Space museum. My sister and I are loaning pilot and stewardess uniforms belonging to our parents and flight logs to hopefully go along with that display. The tags are done extremely well with a strong cable/screw catch for attaching them. Definitely great quality work and in our case a special memento of our parents.
